Recent work
One crew, start to finish

Dan Ferreira framed houses for twelve years before starting Cedar & Stone in 2014 with his brother-in-law, a finish carpenter. They still run every job themselves.
How a job goes:
- A site visit: we measure, look behind what we can and listen.
- A written quote within a week, line by line, with the materials named.
- A start date once you accept and the deposit is in.
- The same crew every day, and a walkthrough before the last payment.
We don't subcontract the carpentry, we pull the permits ourselves, and we clean up every evening — you live there.
What clients say
The quote was the price. Nothing added halfway through, and they found the rot under the old tub before it found us.
Karen · Main bathroom, Westdale Same two guys every morning at 7:30, and the house clean every night. We lived through a kitchen remodel and stayed friends.
Mark & Leila · Kitchen, the Mountain The bookshelves look like they came with the house. Dan scribed them to a wall that isn't straight anywhere.
Robert · Built-ins, Dundas Our basement is now my mother's suite, permit and all. They handled the city so we didn't have to.
Anita · Basement suite, Stoney Creek
Questions
Does the quote cost anything?
No. The site visit and the written quote are free, and sending a request commits you to nothing. You pay only once you accept a quote.
Why "From" prices?
They're where those jobs usually start for us, so you know the range before we visit. Your quote is for your house, line by line.
How do payments work?
25% when you accept, which orders the materials and holds your start date; the rest after the final walkthrough. Bigger jobs can be split by stage — ask us.
Do you handle permits?
Yes. We draw what the city needs, file it and book the inspections. The permit fee is a line on your quote.
Can we live at home during the work?
Almost always. We seal off the work area with dust walls, keep a path clear and clean up every evening. For a kitchen we set up a temporary sink if you'd like one.

Refund policy
The deposit buys materials and holds your start date. Once materials are ordered it can't be refunded; before then it comes back in full. Every job carries our two-year workmanship warranty.
Cancellation policy
Withdraw a request or decline a quote from its page at any time — nothing is owed. After you accept, change the start date with two weeks' notice at no charge.
Home visit policy
The site visit and the quote are free. A quote stands for the days it says; prices for materials can move after that, so we'll send a new one.
